Fun facts about Miss M.

Exhibit A - The Culprits

We're finding Maneekarn to be a smart, expressive child. We're not sure if she did this with her foster family, or if it's new because we take her by the hand to show her what we want and are going to do. She brings me a diaper when she needs to be changed. When she is hungry, she takes me by the hand and leads me to the refrigerator. If she is in the mood to cuddle, she leads me by the hand to the chair we sit in before nap or bedtime. Today she led me to our chair. We got situated to cuddle and for her bottle. Within moments, she sat up, got down off my lap, grabbed her safety towel, and climbed back up. Communication has been pretty OK. This morning I had my coffee cup on a saucer. When I removed it she placed her bottle where my cup had been and walked away. She is very aware of her surroundings.

Maneekarn had her first real tantrum today. She loves buttons and gadgets. She knows what a TV remote is and was successful turning TV on. Phones, the camera and computer are of special interest. Daddy remove the computer from reach, and Mega Maneekarn made her debut appearance. It was past nap time and she is cutting 2 teeth on top of it. Luckily she was easy to sooth, but it was interesting.

Anyway... some fun facts about Miss M.

She laughs at her own jokes

Ham puts her into a state of euphoria

You could track her in the woods using only the scent of her feet. ( Don't be mad at me for saying so. Her feet are rivals to my own. We were going to buy her new shoes when we got her, but at the mall the social workers discouraged us. We wonder if they knew of this delicate issue and were afraid to unleash those monsters in public. The other family left with new shoes! Not even a soapy bath has helped. The shoes have a happy home on the balcony for now and are used only when absolutely essential. ( Please see Exhibit A). It's so close to leaving we're not going shopping any more. Socks on the flights are just fine. I keep them mostly so that we can have the outfit we met her in s a keepsake. They can be power washed when we get home.)

Her eyes are so dark and so deep, if you gaze too long, you just might fall in

People watching is her favorite sport

Maneekarn is so flexible that we actually witnessed a moment where the big toe of her right foot was stuck in her left ear.

She will put on a performance worthy of an Oscar in exchange for a potato chip

Maneekarn is either part mountain goat or part monkey 'cause this kid can climb!

Tomorrow we get her passport and visa. We're ready to be home.
