Today finished our official business. It was our most difficult day so far. After 5 days of missed naps,running around and grieving the loss of her foster family, Maneekarn has been melting down any time she does not have direct physical contact with me. What this has meant is her smashing herself into my chest and neck and being carried everywhere. Where she has been solemn before, she is now crying out loudly with tears that could melt anyone. If others try to interact with her she climbs up high as she can on me and hides her face. We've been taking a lot of walks and we've progressed to where she is happy to walk herself and hold my hand and will interact with others briefly. All we have to do next week is pick up her visa and passport. Only one parent has to go, so we can keep her out of that trip.
Our plans were interrupted today. Jeff went and got a massage yesterday and I think the therapist fractured one of his floating ribs. She asked him to go get films and see a doc. At first we thought it was a kidney issue, but we're pretty certain it's a rib. He's been uncomfortable, but the pain is not progressing and there is nothing to do for a rib fracture but let time take care of it. we are so bummed. No holding Miss M for a bit.We need to see how things resolve during the week. He's been feeding her when she's on my lap and playing games with her.
Maneekarn is still not liking the camera, but i did get a couple of shots and about 5 seconds of personal space in today. She's a sweetie, and we think she's a trooper.
She is so gorgeous.
