Update!

We got Maneekarn's update today! The shirt she is wearing was in the very first package we sent to her. This photo was from the end of September. She was 14 months old.
Her report says she has 4 front teeth and enjoys brushing them. They also continue to describe her as bright, cheerful and having good comprehension. Her foster family is actively preparing her for our transition and are using our family picture album regularly. Her report also mentions that Maneekarn does not do well with strangers right now, and is very attached to her foster family. I think that this is why in a lot of her pictures she looks like she's shy or has been crying (this was the very best picture we got this time). She looks pretty distressed and wondering why people are making a fuss and taking pics of her - no smiles! Other families we've talked to have experienced the same thing. It's pretty scary when you don't know what's going on or why things are happening. So many people plotting against you. It's pretty awesome that her foster family is so wonderful. It's going to be hard for them to let her go. We're going to have to just going to have to say some big "Thank Yous", love and hold her - (good advice Mom!)

I know I'm just her mom and all, but I think Maneekarn is most amazing and beautiful... As hard as this process has been, we're feeling really good right now.

Can't wait to squeeze this little pumpkin!
