We discovered that there is a large beautiful park really close to our hotel. It has paddle boats, a workout area and a play structure with a sandpit. There are wide sidewalks and no vehicles to dodge. They have performances and dancing. Iguanas are common in the grass and in the water. We discovered them by almost tripping over one. I think we will be making daily trips with Maneekarn to get away from the busy streets, play and stretch our legs.
It is really humid here. We are wishing we could wear less clothing. I packed pretty conservatively with long skirts for our adoption. What I'd really love to live in is a comfy tank top. After all of our business is over, I'm going to shop for lighter wear. A hat and umbrella at least keeps the direct sun off. We are both drenching through our clothes. Not even wearing undershirts protect our outer clothes. Luckily, there are laundry businesses all over. We are hoping our clothes are finished today. We spent a little time at the market, where Jeff tried on a jacket. I though he would pass out in just those short few moments.
Today we're going to try to see a play.
Hope you all are well. To my family - hope you got to New Orleans for the Holiday smoothly. Tell everyone hello for us.
Gretchen

ReplyDeleteOH NO! I hope you guys are all recovering and can enjoy the Holiday just being cozy. 3 more days and Short Stuff will be walking through our door! We're ready!
ReplyDeleteLove you, G
Gretchen and Jeff,
ReplyDeleteLooks like Maneekarn will fit right in. Instead of riding a motor cycle she will ride a dune buggy and will feel right at home. Except for the cold, your backyard will be like her garden- she won't know the difference so don't tell her. Glad to see things are going well. Keep us filled in with some more pictures.
Love,
Grandpa
