1st day in Bangkok

Bangkok is a metropolis like none we've ever seen. It is a fast-paced bustling city that seems to be in non-stop motion. But as large as this city is, it feels small at the same time. It is disorderly and pedestrians, bikes, motorcycles, and cars all share the same roadway and sidewalk system (if you are lucky enough to have a sidewalk). One of the 1st sights we saw was a young family of 4 on a motorcycle. A baby of about 9 months old was draped and sleeping soundly over the handlebars. Dad was driving, mom behind, and a 4 year old holding onto her in the back. They were weaving through traffic at high speed. This is a common sight. How so many people can share a roadway with so little complication is beyond me. There are rarely traffic lights. It is a sight to behold.
We are indulging in the amazing food, people are friendly and engaging.
We'll be in touch soon. One more week until we meet Maneekarn!

Luv, GandJ
